musica per arsin et thesin : music by rise and fall (1981-2004)
Version 1. The 'card piece', was originally written as 4 bar loops on postcards and handed to players in The Lost Jockey to play as a final encore at the Africa Centre gig on 10th December 1981. The pulses began first then the musicians were directed to fade in and out. Set of cards is available on request.
Version 2. Rise & Fall (Abbey Road version) MP3 (4.7MB) was then recorded by The Lost Jockey in Abbey Road by John Leckie and released as Rise & Fall on a 10" single in July 1982 by Operation Twilight, the reviews were mixed and kind. BBC Radio 4 also use this recording as the theme for Puzzle Panel. (5:10)
Version 3. After 20 years, I am revisiting this material and constucting a concert performing edition of it. The work in progress has reverted to the original title: musica per arsin et thesin (trans. music by rise and fall).
